Do the following thing on your pc.

1. Search for temp files( In search box type *.tmp) click search. Delete all files that appears after search.

2. Than as above type *.log %26amp; do the same.

3. Search Temp folder Delete all it's content.

4. Search Temprory Internet Files %26amp; delete it's content.

5. Run updated Antivirus %26amp; Anti spyware.

6. Run disk cleanup from system tools in accessories.

7. Than defragment your drives twice from system tools Defrag.

8. From run type msconfig %26gt; enter %26gt; click on startup un check all checked field except of antivirus %26amp; anti spyware. Choose %26amp; click services, Check beside hide all MS Services. In remaining list uncheck all except Anti virus %26amp; Anti spyware services click apply click ok you will asked to restart click restart. You are almost done.

This will make your system considerably faster but one very essential action has to be taken and that is cleaning Registry which is the main reason of sluggis system. Dowload

WIN XP Manager or tuneup utilities install %26amp; clean. Try with win xp manager,s 1 click cleaner. You can download it from

www.softarchive.net. It requires dotnet fx so you will have to download it also. First you will have to install dotnet fx. It is free %26amp; you can get it from site of microsoft. Your PC will become as fast as it was when new or a bit better.

To increase your virtual memory open control panel double click system foldes on opening page click advanced than chek before Adjust for best performance. than click advanced in coming window you will find virtual memory click setting. Select drive on where you want your virtual memory to be. then click custom and change the file size by typing your initial size should be 1024 MB at least %26amp; max size should be not less than 2048 MB.My computer is running slow, says my virtual memory min. is low???
Go to a repair shop. I'm sorry to be blunt but the problem with computers is that they often require hours of professional attention which you're not usually able to provide. Some of us on here are professionals but I think they'll agree with me that if you get a computer technician to look at it they should help you out. I think it sounds like you need to get him to either run it in safe mode and spend about 4 hours cleaning it out or format and reinstall Windows XP.

Hope that helps,

Are you posting too many messages in yahoo answers? I also do get this message when trying to do it
Most likely time for a RAM Memory Upgrade. Windows will ';borrow'; processing memory - virtual memory when your computer has many start up programs running and you may be playing media files and are doing multi-tasking. You can set your virtual memory to maximum, but what is most likely neccessary is a RAM Upgrade.

Settings:

Click Start (lower left) %26gt; Control Panel (on menu) %26gt; System %26gt; Advanced %26gt; Performance %26gt; Virtual Memory %26gt; (don't touch D-Disk just C-Disk where all software and Windows is running from. You can set C-Disk to the maximum allocated memory for Windows to borrow memory. Again that is not going to work very long. You will definately need a RAM Memory Upgrade probably from 256M RAM to the 512M RAM. Check your PC while you are there for whjat you have. Click the ';General'; tab at ';System';. It will tell you how much RAM memory is installed - probably 256M. Most likely the maximum you can install is 512M total which is to add another 256M of RAM. You must check your exact model computer to find out it's maximum size allowed for RAM, most likely is 512M RAM if you got a pc with Windows XP in it. Older sytems for instance can only install 256M altogether and probably shipped with only 128M RAM (Windows 95, 98). Installing the maximum RAM will pretty much have it running like new in speed and multi-tasking. Today's Vista pcs are shipping with 1G RAM and greater !

Note that a 256M RAM memory stick is only about 50 to 60 dollars and can be snapped in at home when you open your pc. Consult your Owner's manual about how to open your PC and where the memory ';rows'; are and which one is the RAM double row. Your existing RAM is in one row and right beside it is another empty row (about 4 to 6 inches) where you snap in the new RAM memory stick. Otherwise drop it off at a PC Repair Shop and they will do it for you (maybe a friend and a dinner).
