Virtual memory too low can some one tell me what to do?

im playing an online game and after playing for awhile an error msg saying your virtual memory is too low and shuts off the game , i have a windows vista 32 bit with 2GB , i know i have to change the intial and maximum pages on the virtual memory but i dont know for how much and does it have to be the same value?Virtual memory too low can some one tell me what to do?
my paging file on that same system is 3070 (min and max)

get a couple more sticks of ram if this continues to be a problem, or shut down any background programs that are running AFTER restarting your computer, before playing.Virtual memory too low can some one tell me what to do?
I hope you mean you have 2GB of RAM or Virtual memory , and not a 2GB hard drive (or solid state) like on some of those new ';netbooks';. If it is a 2GB S.S.D.D. like in a netbook, you're S.O.L.

Otherwise, increasing your page file should take car of it.

Here are the steps I got from a website:

1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2.Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.

3.On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.

4.On the Advanced tab, under Virtual memory, click Change.

5.Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file that you want to change.

6.Under Paging file size for selected drive, click to Custom size check box. You can enter the amount of memory you would like to reserve for Virtual memory by entering the initial and maximum size.

7.Click Set

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.

Special Note: You should choose the same amount for the initial size and maximum size. This will Stop your CPU from constantly changing the paging file.
put some more RAM in there and it should be okay. the RAM you are lacking is causing your pc to eat up your virtual memory. it is easy to do and is usually inexpensive if you get it in the right place. go to

www.crucial.com

let the site scan your pc and it will tell you what RAM will work in it and you can buy it from them. but i would get it from newegg.com cause they will probably be cheaper. if you don't feel comfortable doing it, take it to a pc repair shop and get them to do it
changing the virtual ram may cause your computer to be slower.

I would first update your antivirus scanner and do a virus scan to make sure any viruses are not causing this. If you do not have an antivirus scanner, you can get a free one at http://free.avg.com or http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-

If there are no virus, then is a sure sign, that no many programs and processes are running. Often the menu icons on the bottom right are often programs that run in the background and each one take up some ram. Each one can accumulate and cause your computer to slow down.
It seems that you should increase your virtual memory, seeing as how that is the only logical and possible thing to do at this state.
